Ushiwaka Kotaro (1974) – eps. 52, 69, 91, 93, 94
This was going to be a Halloween release, but I’m releasing it a few days early. Ushiwaka Kotaro aired in 1974, and was the last of the short 5-minute tokusatsu segments from the Good Morning! Kid’s Show. That’s the children’s variety show that also aired Redman, Godman, and Greenman (some Godman and Greenman have been subbed by MegaBeast Empire and Hi no Tori). This series doesn’t feature any of the “guest-star” giant monsters that those other shows would occasionally use, but instead usually had Kotaro and his companions encountering some sort of Yokai that was sent out by Kotaro’s nemesis, Konjo, in order to defeat him.
Now, I have to apologize in advance for something. The video source I used came from a second-gen dvd, and the picture quality was fairly decent… But these final subbed copies ended up looking a bit fuzzy. And the last two episodes are stuck together. And they’re presented in a 322×240 mp4 file. And that’s probably the scariest thing about these. Anyway, Happy Halloween!
Robocon (1974) – Preview
I’ve been planning on subbing a few episodes of Ganbare! Robocon for a while, but I haven’t been able to get a hold of any good quality RAWs for it. I finally decided to just go ahead and use the copies I had, but when I started subbing it, I found that I didn’t have as much interest in it (at that moment, anyways). So this is just a short preview for a possible upcoming project.
Mirrorman 1 (1971)
I’m still taking a break, but I had this floating around for a while. Actually, I’m not sure who did this originally, but I found this episode on youtube, and wanted to upgrade it a little bit since I had a raw copy. I added the OP/ED songs and did some text formatting, but other than that I left it alone. So whoever originally subbed this, thanks a million!
